'This time there was a very young girl who started to say no to her parents so she went to someone who gave her the option to live with her.

'This woman said to this child's face that she didn't want a baby — and when she said yes she gave up her baby, and you can see the shock in her face! She's just saying "Well you can't have my baby!"

'These kids come to me with broken hearts, with kids, with no jobs and they ask me about life. The truth is they can be so much more than they appear and I know I can help them find themselves and what they want for their future.

'I talk about the need for an emotional approach to life which does not ignore pain, no matter how much money, no matter how rich, no matter how much money from people, money only gives you so much power. The power to give and take; we have to use that power for positive change.

'I want to share this with you as I did for so many years: I know we all feel like that. We all want things, people give us things, people give us happiness. It's up to us to be active in the world around us to make a positive difference. That's what we do on a daily basis.'

For her, success and her own'success', she and Jamie are both happy to leave everything else at home, at least for a while, to focus on themselves, their lives and their dreams.

'You learn so much about yourself in a week that's not related to your job,' she says.

'And we do all that in three months,' Jamie jokes as he tells me he doesn't work because he has a 'pretty good time'.

But his attitude to the job doesn't surprise Brendan.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 (Reuters) - A huge boat of fishermen abandoned their boat and lost their lives after a massive landslide off Malaysia's southern coast sank.

A rescue team called off rescue operations following a 7-metre (22ft) landslide that killed the eight people on board, while eight fishermen were rescued by helicopter in a different sinking boat.

Some fishermen took photos of what happened to them before the rescue boat got to them. They were given oxygen by their rescuers and were released by helicopter in another rescue operation.

The eight fishermen died at the scene as rescue teams tried to save their boats and recover their corpses to be sent to Kuala Lumpur, according to the police.

The landslide, which took place late on Tuesday afternoon, occurred in the village of Bukit Bintang, just south of Penang, in the southern part of the island state of Sulawesi.

According to the disaster management and disaster prevention agency Pambalam, the eight people drowned between March 1 and 31.

Malaysia's Disaster Management Authority is co-ordinating rescue operations in the affected area. (Reporting by Mark Hosenball; Editing by Jim Loney)
